This is not a story we ever imagined we would have to tell.
The person at the centre of this appeal has spent most of his adult life teaching and mentoring children, teenagers, and adults in his community. He is known for his calm nature, generosity with his time, and willingness to help anyone who came to him for guidance. His work has shaped countless lives, often quietly and without recognition.
In April 2025, he travelled, fulfilled a long-held personal dream, and returned home in good health. Everything seemed normal until December, when he suddenly became ill. After several hospital visits and medical tests, he was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease.
The diagnosis changed everything.
He is currently receiving treatment at Saint Nicholas Hospital, Obalende, Lagos Island, where doctors have recommended an urgent kidney transplant followed by intensive post-surgery care. The estimated cost of the procedure and treatment is approximately ₦50,000,000.
For an average family, this is an overwhelming amount to raise. Yet they continue to hold on to hope.
Friends, former students, relatives, and kind-hearted strangers have already come together to support the family. Their generosity has reminded us that compassion still exists, but there is still a significant amount left to raise before treatment can move forward.
Asking for help has not been easy. The family understands that many people are dealing with challenges of their own, but they also know that recovery is only possible if more people come together to help.
